Preventive Garage Door Maintenance

Most of the garage doors we see are a bit neglected. However, with a bit of TLC every year you can extend the life of yours and help to prevent breakages.

Brush off debris and check for rust and corrosion. Lubricate all the moving parts including springs, rollers, and hinges, checking for signs of wear and tear.

Tighten any parts that have worn loose. Do not attempt to repair or adjust springs as they are under a lot of tension and can be dangerous.

Be alert to any change in the noise your garage door makes on opening and closing.
